How do League Events work?
League Events are an exciting and integral part of our platform. In this guide, we'll explain how they work, what to expect, and how to maximize your participation. Let's dive into the world of League Events!
Visit the Leagues page to find available events. The amount of GP Tokens needed to register varies by event type.
Simply click an Open slot to register, and that's it!
On the event registration page, there will be details highlighting the Event Type, Recommended Skill Level, Scoring Format, and Pool Information.
In this example, there are 14 teams, with 2 pools, and 7 teams per pool. The teams in both pools are randomly generated at the start of every League Event. Each team will face off against all other teams in the same pool (play 6 games) and will play 1 set (first to 21).
At the start of every League Match, a designated Event Coordinator will go on the Match Login page and enter an Event Code to start the check in process.
When you arrive, you will need to check in with the Event Coordinator. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the event to check in and warm up.
At the start of an event, Pool Draws will be generated automatically and the Event Coordinator will call out matches.
The Match Schedule component leverages our automated scheduling system that prioritizes matches for teams that have waited the longest.
The Match Assistant component tracks all matches played, and statistics for each team during the event.
It will track your record, the number of points you earned and lost, your scoring delta, number of games you played, the duration of games being played, and how long you've waited for between matches.
After all scheduled matches have been played, the top two teams from each pool will be selected to participate in the finals.
The team with the best record and highest scoring delta in each pool will play for 1st and 2nd, while the second best team in each pool will play for 3rd and 4th.
If this were a single pool event, the top 4 teams in the single pool would advance to the finals.
If teams share similar records, the Score Delta will act as the tie breaker. A higher scoring delta indicates that you scored more points in your matches then you've conceded.
The final four teams will battle it out to determine the victor of the League Event
The top 4 winners will be awarded with additional Matchmaking Rating (MMR) points!
1st place will receive 50 MMR
2nd place will receive 25 MMR
3rd place will receive 12 MMR
4th place will receive 6 MMR
